I thought it meant I was committed. Responsive. The kind of agent clients rave about.

But in reality?

It just made me exhausted.

I was replying to 10 PM texts with one eye open, skipping meals between showings, and saying yes to everything—even when it made no sense. (Including a listing appointment where the seller’s dog wouldn’t stop licking my ankles. Yes, that actually happened.)

Here’s what I had to learn the hard way:
