We talk about freedom all the time in entrepreneurship.
But the kind of freedom I’m talking about doesn’t show up in highlight reels.
It shows up in the hard weeks.
Last week, my daughter needed me.
Not for a drop-off or a dance recital.
She needed me. Present. Undistracted. Grounded.
So I cleared my calendar, and we got out of town.
The Week That Reminded Me Why I Built It This Way
It wasn’t your classic “vacation.”
The weather was terrible. Plans had to change.
But it didn’t matter. Because the trip wasn’t about the destination — it was about being together.
We even pivoted mid-week and extended our time away.
Not out of extravagance, but because we both needed more space before returning to the real world.
Here’s the part I’m most proud of:
While I was gone, nothing fell apart.
Clients were still supported. Coaching calls still happened. New opportunities kept moving forward.
Because I’ve spent years building real systems, trustworthy teams, and boundaries that protect my energy.
And that’s not an accident — it’s the result of a decision I made years ago:
I didn’t want to build a business that only worked when I did.
Freedom Isn’t Always Flashy — But It’s Everything
Let’s be honest: sometimes we glamorize the wrong kind of success.
Big volume, big sales, big visibility.
But real freedom?
It’s the ability to step away when life happens.
To take a break without your income coming to a halt.
To take care of your family without apologizing.
To feel the hard things and not panic about what’s piling up while you do.
That’s what this week reminded me of.
And it’s exactly why I’m so passionate about helping other women build the same.
