The #1 thing holding agents back

There’s a difference between real estate agents and most small business owners.

Actually, there are a lot of differences. But right now I’m going to focus on the #1 reason why so many agents struggle to grow their business from the beginning, or hit a ceiling in production that they can’t break through. 

It’s because they don’t realize they’re actually a business.

When a typical small business gets started, they begin with some seed money or a business loan. They then reinvest as much revenue in the business as they can until it is is operating at a sustainable level. 

Agents live transaction to transaction.

We get a client, we focus on that client, we sell to that client and then we start thinking about the next client. This is what is holding us back from the success, money and freedom that were the reasons we got into real estate in the first place. 

In order to have the business you want to have, you have to invest in yourself and your business.

Most agents make the mistake of trying to do it all themselves. But you’ll be happiest and most productive when you’re operating in your zone of genius. So what do you love to do and what are you great at? What do you NOT enjoy doing, or what aren’t you good at? That’s where you start. 

Know your hourly rate and invest your time only in the activities with a high rate of return. 

From virtual assistants to transaction coordinators, to video editors, to brand strategists, delegate your low value activities so you can focus on your money makers. 

Invest in your skills, knowledge, and personal growth. Whether it’s attending conferences, enrolling in courses, or joining mastermind groups, every investment in yourself pays off in the long run.
