We don’t always know when we are experiencing a “last” with our kids, but this time I do. It’s the last week I’ll be driving my daughter, Victoria, to and from school as she turns 16 and gets her license on Monday. It’s one of those moments where you’re reminded just how fast these kids grow up.
When I got divorced in 2014, I made two promises to myself:
- I wouldn’t let my real estate business take me away from my kids any more than it had to.
- I was going to show my children what it meant to have a mother who succeeds-entirely on her own terms.
“One of the most insidious forms of child neglect is a parent who doesn’t chase their dreams & potential.” – Ed Mylett
Looking back, I’m grateful I made those commitments. Real Estate is a demanding industry, but I learned that with the right mindset, boundaries, & systems in place, it’s possible to create success without sacrificing the moments that matter most.
And now, as I navigate this bitter sweet milestone with Victoria, I’m reminded why I do what I do – not just for my family but to help other agents build lives and businesses they love. Follow @laceynewman_ on instagram for daily motivation on elevating both your life and real estate business!
