Last week, I had one of the most defining moments of my career.
I was selected to speak at the Brand Builders Group Speaker Showcase — a competitive, high-stakes event where just 25 speakers (from over 900 applicants) gave 15-minute keynotes, followed by live feedback from Rory Vaden, Hall of Fame speaker and bestselling author.
I was slotted in the second half of Day 2. Mic clipped. Deck prepped. Ready to roll.
Then the speaker before me took the stage.
And she was incredible.
Her talk ended with a heartbreaking story about losing her daughter — and within seconds, I was in tears. Moved. Shaken. Emotional.
And that’s when the panic hit me:
“I can’t bring this energy on stage.”
If I stayed in that emotional space, I wouldn’t be able to deliver my talk — a message about creating alignment in your real estate business that suddenly felt small and insignificant.
Cue imposter syndrome.
But instead of spiraling, I made a decision:
I put in one AirPod, queued up a Kelsea Ballerini hype song, and covered my other ear so I couldn’t hear what was happening on stage.
Not because I was being rude — but because I was being intentional.
I knew what was coming next required my full presence.
When it was time, I walked on stage and delivered the best version of my talk — one rooted in clarity, alignment, and the framework I teach inside The Elevated Agent Collective.
And I got a standing ovation.
Later, Rory said to me:
“You were in a really hard position. But the better you get, the more often you’ll be asked to follow greatness. And you did exactly the right thing by focusing on your own voice.”
Here’s why I’m sharing this with you — especially if you’re a real estate agent:
You may not be stepping on stage in front of hundreds of people, but every single day, you are:
- Walking into showings or listing appointments
- Hosting events or going live on social media
- Negotiating six- and seven-figure deals
- Pitching your value and holding space for emotional clients
- Showing up online, on camera, and in community
And you can’t lead powerfully if your energy is scattered or wrapped up in someone else’s story.
This is one of the core lessons we teach inside The Elevated Agent Collective:
The greater the requirement for your presence, the more fiercely you have to protect your peace.
Here are 3 ways to protect your energy this week — and show up like the elevated CEO you are:
1. Create a Pre-Performance Ritual
Whether you’re heading into a client meeting or recording content — find your hype song. Light a candle. Breathe deeply. Anchor into why you’re doing this work.
→ This is about energetic clarity. Not performance perfection.
2. Set and Keep Boundaries
Mute the noise. Unfollow the drama. Just because it’s happening doesn’t mean it deserves your attention.
You cannot build a powerful brand on a wobbly foundation of distracted energy.
3. Own Your Message
Even when it feels “smaller” than someone else’s story. Even if it’s not flashy or tear-inducing. Your voice matters. Someone in your sphere needs exactly what you have to say.
Your impact doesn’t depend on volume — it depends on alignment.
This is the heart of the work we do inside The Elevated Agent Collective — a high-level group coaching experience for real estate agents who are ready to lead with strategy, alignment, and magnetic energy.
If you’re a highly ambitious agent ready to scale without burnout, hustle, or overgiving — we’ve got you.
✨ You don’t need to work harder. You need to get aligned. ✨
