You know what I think is really cool about the real estate industry? That 66% of Realtors are female and the median age is 56!
I turned 43 this week and it feels SO GOOD knowing that I’m still young (for a Realtor, lol!), but also that the OLDER I get in this business, the EASIER it becomes for me to grow my business. The credibility that comes with having experience is GOLD.
The experience you’ve gained in your business, whether you’ve been doing it for 1 year or 20 years is the foundation for your growth strategy. Start creating a list of the things you’ve done in your career. Even if it is as basic as “hosted an open house.” Turn that into an opportunity to share what you learned in that experience and most importantly, how that knowledge is valuable to your potential clients. You can share it on social media, in a newsletter to your sphere, in a blog post on your website, or pitch it in a press release to the reporter in the real estate section of your local paper.
I’m not saying that ‘just listed’ posts, ‘just sold posts’, and ‘look how beautiful this other person’s listing is’ posts aren’t also ok, but they’re not selling the magic. The magic is YOU. Your personality, your experience, your unique perspective.

But, don’t forget that while giving people a glimpse into your life is interesting, you’ve got to make sure you’re balancing it with providing value, so you’re not just seen as a person they “know, like and trust,” but as a person they “know, like and trust to sell their house” which is a very different thing!
